Misadventures of a 1970s Childhood: My David Cassidy Hair by Tom Purcell

Misadventures, this book includes 16 vignettes of life in the 70's for the author, as remembered more than 40 years later. It covers such wondrous events as bike jumps, sled vengeance, puppy love, the dog that ran away, the kid left at the drive-in, clogged toilets and so much more.Misadventures

A glorious journey back to a time before our currently fear based society when kids could be kids and FUN was not a four letter word.

I even cried a bit (just a bit mind – I am a man) at one point, and laughed a lot. It is funny, poignant, true, sad and not to be missed.

I can remember some of the stuff in here as if it were yesterday even though it is Middle America and so far from my childhood NZ that it is ridiculous. Perhaps kids then were the same the world over. I'd like to think so.

It is a divine little book.
